The subject of sustainable or "Green" building has lately received much attention in the popular media.

Green architecture seeks to make design choices for buildings and their sites that:

  • Improve energy efficiency
  • Create healthy living environments
  • Minimize the impact of buildings on the environment

At Daniel Conlon Architects, our design process has always included these important considerations. We have found that they apply equally to contemporary and traditional architecture. In fact, regional building styles are rooted in the concept of sustainability.

Today, a number of certification processes, including USGBC "LEED For Homes," are available to recognize buildings which meet or exceed specific performance standards. We are a US Green Building Council member firm, and have a number of LEED accredited professionals on our staff and project team.

Early in the design process we will work with you to define your sustainability objectives.

Whether you decide to seek certification for your building, or simply wish to thoughtfully incorporate the green building strategies which work best for your project, we have the expertise and experience to meet your goals.
